Career

Bernard is a very experienced solicitor and a Part-time Judge and one of the Founders of Gulbenkian Andonian Solicitors. He has gratefully accepted the award of Doctor of Laws (Hon LLD) of the University of West London (UWL) where he graduated with an Hons law degree in 1972, and where he  has kept his links for over 40 years. He obtained a masters degree in business  law with distinction in Intellectual Property from City University.

He specialises in all aspects of immigration, human rights and nationality law and also in Human Rights and matrimonial law and finance. He has been a regular contributor to legal and commercial journals. He has been on the Law Society immigration Law Panel and sits as a part- time Judge and has done so for many years.

He is renowned for a number of successful celebrated decisions of the Higher Courts including Shah and Islam (HL), Baumbast and Rolet (ECJ) which broke new legal grounds on issues of Asylum, Human Rights and European Law.

Bernard speaks : Armenian, Farsi and French and carries out voluntary work for the Ealing community under the community advice programme (CAP) under the direction of the Ealing Equality council where many UWL students are mentored and take a huge part in gaining their  work experience and assisting numerous vulnerable clients who can ill afford to pay for legal advice. He remains a consultant solicitor and the head of professional development at Gulbenkian Andonian Solicitors in London.
