Career

Armel is highly regarded for her sound knowledge in banking, insolvency, commercial and financial law.

She advises on cross-border and domestic financing, and assists lenders and corporate clients on restructuring deals involving the enforcement of Luxembourg security interests. Armel also acts for creditors in open insolvency cases for both regulated and unregulated Luxembourg based entities.

Her practice involves the provision of day-to-day advice to banks and financial institutions on various topics, such as contract law and regulatory issues.

She is also an accomplished litigator and acts as legal counsel for a wide array of institutional and corporate clients before arbitration tribunals and Luxembourg judicial courts. Over the years, she has demonstrated her natural talent for negotiation and pleadings, and has successfully dealt with an extensive range of intricate legal issues (such as shareholder disputes, banking liability and director liability).

Armel’s academic activities as a lecturer at the University of Luxembourg (in contract law) and the Luxembourg Bar School (in personal guarantees and property security rights), as well as her numerous publications in high-profile legal journals in Luxembourg led to her appointment as legal expert in international arbitration cases.

Armel Waisse – MOLITOR Avocats à la Cour SARL

Forming one of the lynchpins of MOLITOR Avocats à la Cour SARL‘s full-service offering, litigation is very much in the firm’s DNA, ensuring that clients receive a ‘commercial, responsive and user-friendly’ service throughout the life-cycle of a litigation procedure. A good deal of the work relates to financial and corporate disputes, an area that many of the lawyers have particular expertise, including on matters involving a multi-jurisdictional angle. Paulo Lopes Da Silva provides ‘very clear and accurate technical legal advice’ to banks and funds across a range of commercial litigation, and is appreciated for his ‘understanding of the practical inter-relationships between the law and procedure, and legal authorities.’ Philippe Thiebaud  specialises in insolvency, corporate and fund litigation and is noted for his ‘strong understanding of cross-border issues.’ The firm also excels in managing disputes utilising ADR techniques, with the ‘outstanding’ Armel Waisse and Jacques Wolter noted for their arbitration skills, with Wolter also an accredited mediator. Managing partner Michel Molitor co-heads the team alongside Da Silva.
