Position

Oded Ofek is a partner at M. Firon & Co., heading the department of capital markets: investment and institutional entities. Oded specializes in the representation of investment and institutional entities before various control and regulatory bodies in the capital market and is considered to be one of Israel’s leading attorneys in this field. Oded represents the country’s largest investment houses in ongoing legal matters and in the resolutions and settlements before relevant regulators, including the Israeli Securities Authority and the Commissioner of the Capital Markets, Insurance and Savings, in the Israel Ministry of Finance. Having been advising some of the most important organizations and private clients in the capital market for years, Oded regularly appears before government agencies, government committees, special committees designed to examine changes in legislation and before Israeli Knesset committees. Oded takes pride in his contributions to the day-to-day legal activity of investment houses and investment brokers, as well as to the laying out of extraordinarily significant legislative arrangements and guidelines in the capital market, while creating tremendous value for his clients. Oded specializes in a number of legal disciplines, including securities law, corporate law, commercial law, commercial litigation, media law and in business crisis management. Having accumulated special expertise and immense practical experience, Oded is frequently invited to lecture before various organizations and entities on the subjects of capital market and securities. Some of Oded’s clients include mutual fund managers, trustees, provident fund managing companies, investment advisors and portfolio managers. Further, Oded represents the Israeli Mutual Fund Managers Association, which incorporates all mutual fund managers in Israel, the Capital Market Trustees Association, which incorporates all bond trustees, ETF trustees and fund trustees in Israel, as well as the Tel Aviv Brokers Association (TBA) in the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, which incorporates all non-bank stock exchange members. In addition to his position at M. Firon & Co., Oded serves as a member of the Capital Market and Securities Committee and the Investigations and Security Committee in the Israel Bar Association. Oded is an IDF reserves commander officer (at the rank of a Captain) at the Investigation Unit of the Military Police Corps and he presently serves as an investigations officer at the Internal Investigations Unit of the IDF Military Police Corps.
