Kalle heads our TMT and Intellectual Property practices. He advises clients on both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters with a particular focus on copyrights and trademarks, and he is an authorised trademark attorney in Finland. He has extensive experience in commercial contracts and transactions relating to intellectual property, data, technology and media. Kalle also regularly provides counsel on marketing law and data protection matters and he is a CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe). Prior to joining our firm, he worked as an in-house IPR counsel at a leading European media and learning solutions corporation.

The ‘highly skilled‘ team at Krogerus is jointly lead by Kalle Hynönen and Mika Puittinen, who are experts in providing the full range of TMT advice to large Finnish companies. Juha-Pekka Katainen remains a highly regarded expert in IT-related disputes. The team has particular strength in advising on commercial contracts, outsourcing arrangements, tech-heavy procurements and digitalisation projects. It has also seen a notable recent expansion of data protection and privacy mandates under senior associate Saara Leino.

Krogerus provides ‘practical, to-the-point advice‘ to international clients in the TMT and copyright space, as well as covering contentious trade mark and other IP disputes, IP commercialisation and licensing issues, and trade mark portfolio management work, especially in the media and telecoms sectors. Practice head Kalle Hynönen is particularly strong in IP and IT transactions and advisory work for clients operating in the digital services and media arenas. Senior associate Jussi Häyrinen specialises in handling extensive trade mark portfolios, while senior associate Alexander Bützow, who joined from the University of Helsinki in May 2021, focuses on life sciences-related work related to licensing and data use. Henri Kaikkonen departed to lead the IP team at Bird & Bird.
