Career

Lawyer specialized in Corporate / M&A, Advisory and Labour Law, with more than 20 years of experience.

He served as Legal Affairs Manager and HR Manager for Xerox Colombia, he also held the position of Senior Counsel for the Andean Region of Bayer.

Carlos Hugo lived in the People’s Republic of China where he studied Mandarin Chinese, completed a Master’s degree in Chinese Law at Peking University, and worked as a lawyer assisting the Head of Legal for China, Hong Kong and Taiwan in the Chinese holding company of the Bayer group (Bayer China Ltd.)

Once in Colombia, Carlos Hugo established a law firm, and in 2016 he joined as Partner of MBCR, now known as ECIJA Colombia.

For more than a decade he has been closely linked with the academy as an undergraduate professor of Contracts Law and Markets Law at Universidad Javeriana University, and as a Professor of Business with China at Universidad de la Sabana.
