Position

Duncan draws upon his direct industry experience to provide a very personal service to corporate clients of all sizes. He specialises in corporate finance, company sales and acquisitions and commercial contracts of all types. 

 Recent work highlights include:

- advising a multinational on the acquisition of a large UK property investment company
- advising a technology company on an international restructure and part disposal/equity investment
- advising a biomedical company on a £25m fundraising
- advising a high-tech manufacturer on the restructuring of its global distribution agreements.

Career

Duncan read law at Keble College, Oxford University, and following training joined the company commercial team at City firm Gouldens. He then commenced a lengthy career working in-house, first with investment bank BZW, then Barclays Global Investors, the world’s largest investment manager, and subsequently as global general counsel at Travelex plc. He rejoined Barclays Global Investors as the company’s then youngest managing director, with responsibility for a team of 40 people handling legal and regulatory affairs across Europe. Having settled in the Cambridge area Duncan returned to private practice as a partner with a regional firm. In 2010 he co-founded a new firm, which, after a highly successful two years, merged with Greenwoods in February 2012.

Linnette advises UK clients on their business activities in Australia. In a key deal for the team, Walker advised Owlstone Medical its sale of a $7m equity stake to an investor from the Middle East and on the issue of new shares. The firm also acted for Rafik Jallad on the sale of the entire issued share capital of Cambridge Executive Limited to Sierra Wireless. Nitritex and Cambrionix are also clients of the firm.
