Career
As a senior employment lawyer and head of our Education Sector, Jo successfully leads our employment law services in Cambridge and specialises in all aspects of employment law.
Jo qualified as a solicitor in September 2001 and is a leading lawyer in the employment field in Cambridge. Jo excels at building strong client relationships and has significantly grown our Cambridge team’s client-base as a result.
Jo acts for national and local companies and organisations both in and around Cambridge as well as wider afield. Jo carries out work for clients in a variety of sectors including education as she leads Greenwoods’ Education Sector team, as well as working with long-standing technology and media clients. Jo has for many years advised a number of independent schools, as well as over half of the Cambridge Colleges on their thorny HR issues. Jo also has public sector experience, being the go-to person for a large Borough Council on any complicated Tribunal claims and employment issues.
As well as working on contentious matters, Jo enjoys getting her teeth into complicated non-contentious matters, such as large-scale business reorganisations, change programmes and redundancy situations.
Jo is also a confident litigator and has considerable experience defending a wide variety of complex Tribunal claims and continues to impress with her advocacy and mediation skills.
Jo and the team enjoy providing bespoke training to clients and other organisations and deliver a number of popular and impressive training events including ‘Employment Law Now’. More recently, Jo has presented webinars to clients, which have been well received.
