Position

Solicitor, Partner and Head of the Family Team.

Over 30 years’ experience in divorce and family law with his expertise lying in high value and complex financial cases, often involving family businesses, multiple properties, overseas assets and pensions. Simon has a special interest in family businesses and in achieving solutions which ensure the sustainability of those businesses. Simon is experienced in contested cases concerning disputes relating to the property of unmarried couples. He is also experienced in the preparation of nuptial agreements and living together agreements.

Career

After completing his training Simon became a founding partner in a firm of solicitors in Colchester. He joined Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP as a partner in 2007. Simon is based in Colchester and works alongside the Fisher Jones Greenwood commercial team. He also sees clients at the firm’s other offices. Simon has a special interest in the use of technology to improve efficiency and in meeting client’s needs. The firm won The Law Society’s Excellence Award in Technology in 2016 for its use of technology in the provision of its family services.

Simon is a member of Resolution, the IFLA (Institute of Family Law Arbitrators) and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is a practising Collaborative family lawyer and encourages solutions that consider the needs of the whole family.
