Dr Johannes Becker advises on matters pertaining to corporate law and M&A, with an emphasis on national and international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate restructurings. He has particular experience in cross-border transactions. Having advised numerous strategic and institutional investors on investments, financing rounds and exits, Johannes Becker has also gained profound insights in the field of venture capital and private equity.
Career
Dr Johannes Becker studied law at the University of Cologne (Germany). After passing his first state law exam, he completed his doctorate there, writing a thesis on a private international law topic. During this time, he also worked as a research assistant at Freshfields. His subsequent legal training included training periods in the corporate/M&A departments of leading commercial law firms.
Johannes Becker was admitted to the German Bar in early 2011 and worked for Luther until 2017. He then moved to the international law and tax consultancy firm Andersen, returning to Luther in 2020.
