The team assists a wide range of long-standing clients, including major multinationals such as Citibank, HSBC, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson and McDonald’s. Its expertise extends across an array of matters, from high-profile litigation on employee transfers and pension plan liquidation to advice on redundancies, negotiations with unions, health and safety and GDPR issues. The team’s recent work includes advising Eurobank on the implementation of a voluntary redundancy scheme involving 750 employees and successfully representing AGET Iraklis before the Supreme Court in a dispute over the validity of 118 employee dismissals. Practice head Alexios Papastavrou focuses on advising employers, assisting with transfers of undertaking following mergers, collective bargaining agreements and industrial action, and social security and employment-related disputes, among other issues.
