Competition Law Counsel

Neyzar Ünübol leads the Firm’s competition law practice, providing services in all aspects of competition law, such as cartel and abuse of dominance investigations, individual exemption applications, M&As, joint ventures and design and application of merger remedies. She also designs and implements specialized competition law compliance programs for various multinational and local companies and delivers competition law training that is tailored to clients’ needs and the characteristics of the sector in which they operate. She represents various sector-leading clients and private equity funds, such as Gratis, Hedef Filo, QTerminals, Upfield, Ocean Network Express, HDI Insurance, ORIX Corporation, Vinmar Group, Cheplapharm Arzneimittel, team.blue, Turkven Private Equity and Mediterra Capital.

Career

Neyzar had almost 12 years of experience in the TCA as a competition expert prior to joining Kolcuoğlu Demirkan Koçaklı. She first worked as a Competition Specialist and then as a Chief Competition Expert for over ten years. Neyzar joined KDK in 2019 as Competition Law Counsel.

She has had strategic involvement in the preparation process of various secondary legislations on Competition Law and contributed to in-service training and certificate internship programs organized by the TCA. She has participated in many international and national conferences and workshops representing the TCA, such as OECD roundtables, ICN workshops and UNCTAD meetings.

She is the author of “Interlocking Directorates under European Union Competition Law,” Competition Journal, Vol. 20 Issue 1 (2019), “Competition in Food Retailing and Implications for Consumers” 3. Consumer Law Conference, Institute for Consumer Law, Aristo Publishing, pp. 225-234 (2014), “Role of Competition in Public Procurement Markets: Protection of Competition and Competition Advocacy,” (Turkish Competition Authority Expertise Thesis, 2012) as well as the co-author of “Settlement: A Journey to Uncertainty,” Competition Journal, Vol. 16 Issue 4 (2015).
