Jan Pot specialises in complex civil litigation where intellectual property and technology are involved. Jan coordinates Brinkhof’s cross-practice litigation group, and currently represents some of the largest tech companies in privacy- and competition-related claims., including under the Dutch WAMCA class action regime.

Jan also has extensive experience as a patent litigator and is a registered UPC representative. He has represented a diverse array of clients in complex national and international patent disputes in front of the Dutch Courts and the European Patent Office, with a particular focus on pharma and mechanics.

Jan Pot  – Brinkhof

Brinkhof is frequently tasked with co-ordinating multi-jurisdictional patent disputes, overseeing parallel European and global litigation for clients in the pharmaceutical, electronics and tech and consumer goods sectors. Daan de Lange tackles SEP disputes for telecoms clients and FRAND matters. The team is headed by Richard Ebbink, who handles European Patent Office (EPO) opposition proceedings and parallel national disputes, and Mark van Gardingen, who specialises in pharmaceutical, chemical and biotech patents. Koen Bijvank appears before the courts and the EPO for chemicals and life sciences clients. Jan Pot, who heads the firm’s litigation team, handles appeal and opposition proceedings before the Dutch Supreme Court and EPO.

Brinkhof mainly acts for international clients within the media and technology sectors, including large multinationals as defendants in numerous class actions. Practice head Jan Pot is noted for his ability to defend undertakings in follow-up damages class actions. Pepijn van Ginneken works alongside Pot and is knowledgeable on collective civil damages claims and cartel damage claims.
