Ms Shaparak Saleh
Shaparak is an expert in commercial litigation and international commercial arbitration, and has practised in these areas for more than twelve years. She has advised numerous European and American oil companies in arbitration proceedings against a North African State-owned oil and gas company, and has represented major companies in the aeronautics, space, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and construction industries both before arbitral tribunals and state courts. Shaparak has broad experience in post-arbitration litigation before French courts, having represented clients in some twenty setting-aside proceedings. She was also involved in proceedings enforcement of numerous awards against sovereign States, most notably in the Yukos case.

Dispute resolution boutique Teynier Pic houses an experienced team of 13 lawyers, including recent addition Shaparak Saleh, who joined as a partner from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, where she was counsel. The team, which combines strong arbitration and litigation expertise, recently handled a high number of award enforcement cases before the French courts. It is representing Zakhem in proceedings over the annulment of a €50m ICC award obtained against Sonatrach, as well as Japan Tobacco International in proceedings with British American Tobacco to set aside a €22m ICC award. The firm is also handling commercial and investment arbitration cases, including matters dealing with telecoms and industrial projects in Africa. Orange and Cameroon are clients. Partners are also regularly appointed as arbitrators. Eric Teynier, Pierre Pic, Laurence Kiffer and Raphaël Kaminsky are recommended.
