Jane’s areas of expertise include advising on a wide range of problems in connection with financial transactions. These include derivatives litigation and other banking disputes (including over investments in structured products) and related issues such as margin calls and other collateral requirements.  She acted for the European Commission on an important insolvency law point, which was referred to the Court of Appeal.

Jane’s expert knowledge also covers the following areas:

  • Banking litigation, often in relation to cross-border cases
  • Advising in relation to a range of commercial disputes
  • Settling disputes by mediation

Jane graduated with a first-class degree in History from Cambridge University in 1989. In 1992, she obtained a first in her Law Society Finals. She trained with Allen & Overy, qualifying in London in 1994, and stayed with them until 2003. She spent 1997-2000 in their Hong Kong office and was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 1998. Jane joined Gibson & Co. as a partner in November 2003.
