Position

Mr. Clerides specialises in private equity deals and structuring and negotiation of cross border transactions. He also heads the legal tax services department and regulated structures departments of the firm. He has extensive experience in the areas of local and international taxation, negotiating complex financial transactions, set-up of cross-border corporate structures, trusts, mergers and acquisitions, private collective investment schemes, joint ventures, corporate finance, capital markets, corporate re-organisations, receiverships / liquidations, financial transactions and derivative instruments.

Career

Mr. Clerides is a senior partner in the firm. He started his career with Deloitte in New York and in London where he has worked on several high profile clients. He worked with KPMG in Cyprus for several years in key positions and across several areas from corporate insolvency to corporate finance and management consultancy, from assurance and compliance services to tax services. Co-founded Ergoserve Consulting Limited an award winning firm and one of the largest fiduciary, trust and corporate services companies in Cyprus. Mr. Clerides has served on various professional association committees in relation to capital markets, taxation and direct investment, members education and European affairs matters. He had been ranked as a leading lawyer by Legal 500 for many years and he is a member of Beta Alpha Psi and Beta Gamma Sigma honors societies in the US. He is a frequent lecturer and speaker on various international taxation, corporate law and financial matters in Cyprus and abroad, and has published various articles in various commercial and professional journals. He is the author of the Cyprus chapter of the 4th edition of “The Inward Investment and International Taxation Review” recently published by the Law Business Research of London.
