Career
Nicolas is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution Practice Group of the firm. He represents international and domestic companies, government companies, financial institutions and high net worth individuals on a broad range of civil and contractual matters with a particular focus on disputes relating to the energy and fuel sectors, tender-related disputes, tax disputes and antitrust disputes. He also acts for clients of the firm in the courts of administrative affairs on petitions for the review and setting aside of decisions of public authorities and public bodies.
In his energy practice, Nicolas represents Israel’s largest fuel company, Paz, in commercial disputes, in particular disputes relating to antitrust issues, as well as Israel Electric Corporation, Israel’s national electric monopoly, on a wide range of commercial matters.
Nicolas also has extensive experience representing clients on all aspects of disputed tax assessments before tax appeal committees and the full range of courts. Nicolas also acts for local authorities on disputed land betterment levies as well for land owners on disputed levies and assessments raised by the Israel Lands Authority in connection with the development of their property portfolios. In addition to financial institutions, public and private companies, high net worth individuals and local authorities, clients of the firm whom he advisess, for tax matters, also include charities and not-for-profit organizations.
Nicolas joined S. Horowitz & Co. in 2009, where he completed his internship and qualified as an Israeli advocate.
