Career

Shira Lahat provides on-going legal advice, mainly to corporations, in all labor law aspects. Shira supports our clients on a routine basis regarding day to day issues such as recruiting new employees, disputes with employees, advice regarding  employment terms and conditions, disciplinary issues, compensation and retirement packages, HR policies, employment termination, as well as issues concerning sexual harassment, equal opportunities in the workplace, work place safety issues  and so on.

Shira drafts versatile agreements, such as employment agreements, consulting and services agreements, manpower agreements, non discloser and confidentiality agreements, IP rights agreements, separation agreements. Shira also has expertise in employee equity-based incentive plans and executive compensation.
Shira advises clients as to labor law ramifications in complicated commercial reorganizations and RIFs, including accompanying managers step by step in downsizing procedures, and supporting the clients post process. In addition, Shira is experienced in mergers and acquisitions, including conducting due diligence, assessing legal risks, drafting employment related provisions in transaction documents, advising on aspects relating to the change of employers, and preparation of retention agreements.

Shira regularly appears before various judicial instances such as the regional and national labor courts. In addition Shira represents clients in procedures and hearings conducted by different governmental authorities such as application for termination of pregnant employees, employees on military reserve duty and other protected employees, requests for special work permits (weekend work, overtime etc).

Shira delivers training to clients in various labor law aspects, such as prevention of sexual harassment, recruiting procedures, equal opportunities, termination and hearing procedures, etc.

Shira has special expertise in issues of privacy in the work place (i.e. email and other employees’ monitoring, collection of data, transfer of private information).Shira regularly publishes articles and Op-Eds with regard to Labor Law in The Marker (the leading economic newspaper in Israel) and in other Israeli newspapers. Shira also writes in professional legal guides, and co-wrote the Outsourcing chapter in Getting the Deal Through; The Employment & Labor Law chapter in the  International Comparative Legal Guide; and  “Hiring the Best Qualified & Most Talented Employees: Handbook on Global Recruiting, Screening, Testing and Interviewing Criteria”.

Shira received her LLB from The Interdisciplinary Center, Herzlia, Israel (1999), her LLM from Tel-Aviv University, Israel (2005) and an MBA from the Technion. She was admitted to the Israel Bar in 2000.

Shira is a member of the employment forum of the Israeli Bar Association. She joined the firm as an associate in 2007, and became partner in 2013.
