Types of work undertaken: Company and commercial: an understanding of commercial objectives and trading methods is an integral part of the team's service. It deals in the acquisition and disposal of companies and unincorporated businesses and general commercial contracts and has a growing specialism in complex intellectual property issues.

Commercial dispute resolution: the team deals with contractual disputes involving national and international content. It has particular expertise in communications, engineering and intellectual property and has a thriving professional negligence practice.

Contentious probate: the team of six lawyers has three active members of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Lawyers. The firm has expertise in disputes involving the validity of wills and breaches of trust. The team has a considerable reputation in dealing with complex multi-party Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975 cases.

Court of Protection: the team is regularly instructed where there are intra-family disputes involving the finances of persons lacking capacity. It also has experience in complex welfare and deprivation of liberty cases. The team is on the approved panel list for many London boroughs.

Employment: the team has a strong contentious and non-contentious practice. It advises on best employment practices and deals with disputes. It has considerable experience in advising high-net-worth employees on dismissal and discrimination as well as negotiating service and compromise agreements.

Family: this dedicated and well-recognised team, led by Kim Beatson, offers expertise in all areas of family law with emphasis on children and finance, and has wide experience in international financial matters. Well known for pioneering alternatives to litigation, the team operates one of the most highly-regarded mediation and collaborative law services in London. The firm has expertise in advising gay and lesbian clients on cohabitation agreements, civil partnerships and relationship breakdown.

Personal injury: the team is recognised as one of the UK leaders. The firm is known for its extremely thorough approach to investigations and its outstanding results. Clinical negligence: one of the largest teams in London with three members of the AvMA specialist clinical negligence panel and five members of the Law Society panel. Notary services: David Wedgwood, Peter Mantell and Philip Wallace offer a full notary public service.

Property: the team was one of the first to secure membership to the Law Society's Conveyancing Quality Scheme, and has a strong practice in property transactional work, including commercial leases, property development, financial and investment work, and conveyancing.
