Career
Luc COURTOIS is a Partner in the Investment Funds department. Before joining the firm in January 2023, Luc headed the Investment Funds practice of an international law firm, and before that, he was a founding partner of a renowned independent Luxembourg law firm.
He has over 30 years of experience in the Luxembourg legal market with a particular focus on setting up UCITS and other regulated and unregulated investment vehicles, including real estate, debt, private equity, and hedge funds. In addition to advising on AIFMD requirements, he assists management companies and alternative investment fund managers with obtaining their respective licenses and the development of their activities in Luxembourg and abroad. He also advises banking groups on the restructuring of their management companies in Luxembourg.
In addition to his legal practice, he frequently intervenes as a lecturer in various investment funds and management companies, in different investment fund law topics.

‘Very knowledgeable on the Luxembourgish funds industry’, KLEYR GRASSO handles work for fund managers and institutional investors setting up or investing into a myriad of alternative investment funds, including real estate and private equity. The team also advises on ongoing regulatory issues associated with running a fund, as well as advice with regard to other transactional mandates, including restructuring and mergers of funds. Much of the work has an intersection with German-speaking countries, with the ‘outstanding’ Mevlude-Aysun Tokbag particularly skilled at work in the space.
