Félix MonteroPérez-Llorca

Active in litigation before commercial, civil and administrative courts, Pérez-Llorca’s practice also covers cross-border disputes and international arbitration. The firm’s work ranges from advice on the purchase of litigation and arbitration dispute portfolios, to construction and energy disputes, to contentious insurance, banking and bankruptcy matters. Félix Montero advises on civil and commercial litigation and domestic and international arbitration, in areas including corporate disputes, recognition and enforcement of judgments and arbitral awards, sovereign practice, contract law and public concessions. He co-leads the team with Barcelona-based Jordi Gras, who joined in 2020 and brings experience in civil and commercial litigation. Another key name for the firm is state attorney Juan Manuel Rodríguez Cárcamo, who is an expert in highly regulated sectors. The firm’s strength-in-depth in dispute resolution grew further in 2020 with the arrivals of Ignacio Santabaya and Julio Parrilla from other well-known law firms.

Spain > Restructuring and insolvency

Pérez-Llorca advises debtors, national and international financial institutions, investment funds, private equity funds and commercial creditors across the spectrum of restructuring and insolvency matters. As well as restructurings, refinancings and insolvency agreements, the firm has particular expertise in judicial proceedings, company liquidations, asset sale transactions and pre-insolvency matters. The team is co-led by Fernando Quicios, who focuses on out-of-court restructuring and insolvency; Juan Oñate, who joined the firm in 2020 and handles restructuring agreements, the purchase and recovery of NPL portfolios, defence of clawback actions and directors’ liability claims; and insolvency litigation specialist Félix Montero. Insolvency expert Javier García Marrero is also noted. In another significant development, Laura Ruiz was promoted to partner in 2021.
