Kluge Advokatfirma AS 'provides excellent advice' and fields 'a strong team for upstream oil and gas work' under the leadership of the 'genuinely brilliant' Audun Stornes and Thomas Abrahamsen, who is 'particularly good at getting the deal done'. In a recent highlight, Stornes and Abrahamsen led advice to Neptune Energy Norge on its acquisition of VNG Norge. Other work includes assisting Repsol Norge with its purchase of participating interests in the Visund field on the NCS and acting for Faroe Petroleum on development projects in the Njord hub area. Olav Hasaas and litigator Amund Noss are also recommended.

Within: Tax

At Kluge Advokatfirma AS, Frode Olsen and Amund Noss lead the tax advisory and tax litigation groups respectively. Olsen advised Akershus Fylkeskommune on the tax aspects of the structuring of the ownership of its transportation infrastructure and Noss represented Total E&P Norge in a tax dispute relating to the delayed delivery of LNG from the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Eirik Jensen retired.

  • Norway not included when short sale regulations in EU take effect 1 November 2012

    From 1 November 2012 EU Regulation 236/2012 on short selling and certain aspects of credit default swaps will come into effect. Although the Regulation is within the scope of the EEA Agreement, Norway has not implemented the EU Regulation. Based on unofficial information from the Norwegian authorities, we expect the implementation process to be delayed until at least late 2013. Meanwhile, existing rules on short sale in Norway will continue to apply for transactions performed on the Norwegian market.
