Position

Partner in the Commercial & Business team at Hayes solicitors. He is a highly skilled litigator across a wide range of commercial disputes and is particularly experienced in cases before the Commercial Court. In recent years Matthew has acted in both the prosecution and defence of significant loan recovery proceedings and is currently acting in the defence of very substantial construction/energy claims before the Commercial Court. His considerable experience of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms includes acting in a number of successful mediations to resolve large commercial claims. Matthew is an experienced commercial lawyer and advises a number of Irish and international clients on a wide range of commercial matters, including consumer law, contract law and intellectual property law. Matthew has a specialist interest in professional regulatory matters, particularly with regard to the veterinary profession, and has extensive experience in defending complaints before the Fitness to Practise Committee of the Veterinary Council of Ireland. He also advises widely in the defence of civil and criminal matters in the professional sphere.
