Simon is a partner in the dispute resolution department at Fladgate.

He has wide experience in bringing and defending claims for professional negligence, claims against solicitors and valuers, and acting for accountants (specifically the captive insured for one of the ‘Big Four’ firms); international arbitration in the LCIA and American Arbitration Association; complex commercial cases and breach of contract disputes, shareholder disputes; S.459 petitions; capital reorganisations and reductions; contentious trust matters; variations of trust under the VTA; and IP disputes (including trademarks and copyright).

He also acts for advertising agencies, publishers and a number of well-known public figures in relation to confidentiality, personality rights, copyright, defamation, trademark and passing off cases in various branches of the media including the internet.

The firm continues to represent Jean-Pierre Schenk in a CHf 3m claim against advisers who attempted to defraud him, defendants were served in Sweden and Switzerland and freezing orders imposed. The practice specialises in acting in complex, high-value disputes, which are internationally focused or sourced; and being largely conflict free, the department is able to sue most banks and act in financial services litigation.
