Career

Jan-Berend specializes in corporate law, with a focus on acquisitions, venture capital, private equity transactions and joint ventures. He also has ample experience in dealing with corporate governance and compliance issues. Using his specialism, he supports national and international entrepreneurs, private equity and family businesses throughout each step of a transaction. Jan-Berend is a strategic consultee for boards of directors and supervisory boards. He also advises (statutory) directors and/or managers, often in the context of a (contemplated) acquisition or divestment. His clients know him as a passionate, pragmatic and straightforward person. He is an attorney who focuses on achieving results, without losing sight of details. He takes his clients by the hand and guides them through the different phases of a transaction. This allows them to go back quickly to entrepreneuring or investing.

Education

After graduating from Erasmus University Rotterdam, Jan-Berend completed the postgraduate course Mergers & Acquisitions of Grotius Academy cum laude. He is a guest lecturer at the Rotterdam School of Management and a member of several legal associations, including the Dutch Bar Association, Association Internationale de Jeunes Avocats, and the Dutch Association for Corporate Litigation.
