Career

Michael Klijnstra has vast experience in administrative law and specializes in environmental law, planning and zoning law. He advises both market players and local governments in matters regarding area development, infrastructure projects and use and re-use of dumping grounds. He also deals with complex matters involving soil pollution, environmental permits, control of waste and environmental liability.

Michael has been with Lexence since 2008. Before that he worked for Houthoff Buruma and the centre for environmental law of the Universiteit van Amsterdam.

He read Dutch law at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and was admitted to the Bar in 1997. In 1998 Michael took a doctoral degree with a dissertation on transparency in environmental law.

The team is advising Cementbouw on various permitting and zoning issues regarding its cement plants and includes Kroonenberg Groep, Slokker Vastgoed and De Hoge Dennen among its clients. Pelin Oztürk joined the firm from AKD.
