Esther van der Meulen specializes in reorganizations and the legal aspects of HR/personnel policy. She advises companies in the areas of privacy, employee co-determination and sustainable employment. Esther regularly gives talks and training sessions for HR managers and works councils. Drawing on her background in police work, she also handles compliance and fraud matters.
Esther is a member of the Vereniging Arbeidsrecht Advocaten Nederland (Dutch Employment Lawyers Association). She is part of the Lexence privacy team. She has drawn up privacy policies for various organizations. Esther advises clients in all areas of privacy law, such as privacy statements, data breaches, data processing agreements, processing registers, DPIAs and retention periods. She regularly teaches workshops for clients to increase their motivation to act in accordance with GDPR.

Education
Esther has been with Lexence since 2017. Previously she worked for, among others, the National Police Force and Deloitte. She studied law at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen where she received a master’s degree in civil law in 2003. Esther later received the Master of Criminal Investigation degree from the Politieacademie (Police Academy) and completed the postgraduate specialization course in employment law at Grotius Academie. She was admitted to the Dutch Bar in 2007.
