Carl Fhager is a partner at MAQS’ Gothenburg office, belongs to the firm’s commercial group and leads the practice group on sport. He has extensive experience of commercial agreements, including ones related to cooperation, commission, supply, purchasing, as well as to terms and conditions.

Carl specializes in sports, media, and the entertainment industry in which he has worked for over ten years, and he was sports director of the football club BK Häcken during four years. This experience translates into a unique industry expertise, which Carl uses when he represents actors including media companies, associations, clubs, agents, individual athletes, investors, and sponsors and advises them on the legal issues that might arise in the context of their business. Among others, these can involve sports-related commercial contracts, organizational issues, or investment schemes.

Considering Carl’s dual legal and managerial background, he is often asked to assist boards in an advisory manner, or to join them as a member or a chairman. In addition, he is often called upon to lecture on sports law and agreements, notably for law students at Gothenburg University. Carl is involved with not-for-profit commissions within the sports movement, and he is a member of the Swedish Sports Law Association.
