Louis-François is a partner and head of the corporate department in Fieldfisher’s Brussels office.

Career

Louis-François du Castillon is an attorney with almost 20 years’ experience in mergers and acquisitions and I head the corporate department in our Brussels office. I graduated from the Université Catholique de Louvain-La-Neuve (magna cum laude) and I hold a postgraduate in financial law from the University of Gent (RUG). I am teaching assistant at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). I have been recurrently ranked in Chambers and in Legal 500.With a strong financial law and real estate background, I primarily focus on domestic or cross-border transactions, with a particular focus on the private equity, venture capital, industrial and real estate sectors.

He also deals with complex, cross-border, corporate restructurings and I also have significant expertise in public reorganisations, which includes significant expertise with (international) not-for-profit entities (associations, public interest companies, sui generis entities, …), simplification of governmental bodies and drafting legislation. In this field, he has coordinated the restructuring of the public housing sector and the restructuring of the economic public bodies supporting the Brussels economy and commerce.

He assists his clients, ranging from promising start-ups to transnational groups at every stage of their growth and provide them strategic corporate advice (joint-venture, shareholders agreements, growth capital, stock option plans, convertible bonds / loans, complex governance schemes, etc.).
