Position

Dorothée is an Of Counsel in the Corporate department at Fieldfisher Brussels.

Career

Dorothée advises on all areas of corporate law, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, venture capital and capital markets transactions. In addition, she advises on the regulatory aspects of banking and financial services.

The clients she advises range from start-ups, SMEs, international groups, listed companies to Belgian and international financial institutions.

Dorothée has a particularly strong background in all regulatory aspects of banking and financial services as she spent 10 years in the banking and finance department of a prominent Benelux law firm before joining Fieldfisher in June 2018.

Education

Dorothée received her law degree magna cum laude from the University of Louvain (UCL) in 2008. During her studies, she spent five months at the University of Birmingham on an exchange program. During the last year of her studies, she was awarded the Jacques Falys Prize for best final paper. Dorothée also holds a degree in political sciences from the University of Louvain (UCL) (2008).

She was admitted to the Brussels bar in 2008.

Fieldfisher‘s team primarily advises on debt finance transactions, assisting private equity houses, institutional and direct lenders, and corporate clients with a large volume of domestic and cross-border leveraged financings as well as project financings in connection with major developments and PPP undertakings in the energy and infrastructure space. Real estate financings make up a further key area of expertise, as do distressed financings in the context of restructuring projects. The team is led by Sofie Heremans, whose experience spans a wide array of financing transactions.
