Asbestos claims and mesothelioma claims

I am a partner in Fieldfisher’s asbestos and personal injury departments.

I have been specialising in work related injuries including mesothelioma, industrial diseases and workplace accidents for over 25 years. I specialise in work accident and disease claims that are complex or display novel features such as overseas claims, psychiatric injury claims and cases that are difficult on causation or liability.

I have a developing international practice. I have recently recovered damages in England for a South African asbestos engineer (Beeslaar v Cape) and have been instructed by an Estonian lorry driver who sustained an injury at work in England, and an Italian cyclist who was in a collision with a lorry in London. I am presently instructed by a Romanian family following the father’s death on a construction site in London. Previously I have recovered damages following an accident in Antarctica (Langton v Raytheon),

Sources describe me as “very experienced and very knowledgeable with fantastic attention to detail,” adding: “He doesn’t shy away from the difficult cases.” Legal 500 describe me as an “‘exceptional lawyer'” with “‘excellent client-handling skills'”.

I am an APIL Fellow and Assessor and have written and edited the annual Butterworths Personal Injury Damages Statistics handbook.

Andrew Morgan Fieldfisher

The ‘truly excellent’ team at Fieldfisher is co-led by Paul McNeilPeter Williams and Jill Greenfield whom, having worked on international cases for victims of Harvey Weinstein, was sought out to act on behalf of UK victims of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse in 2021, and did so successfully – she is described as being ‘at the top of her game’. The team is renowned for its international work, including acting on behalf of victims of terror attacks; it campaigned to introduce the legislation which now means that UK victims of terror attacks can fight for compensation, wherever in the world the attack occurs. Andrew Morgan and Peter Williams lead the asbestos and mesothelioma specialist sub-team; in 2021 they successfully widened the scope of dependency of those suffering mesothelioma to foster children, following a successful case at the Court of Appeal. Following a holistic approach, the team is dedicated to assisting clients with specialist care, support and rehabilitation, where needed. The team has also been at the forefront of the debate surrounding the safety of Smart Motorways, with ‘standout’ Harvinder Kaur having worked on such cases. ‘OutstandingDushal Mehta and ‘star‘ practitioner Jennifer Buchanan complete the roster of recommended practitioners.
