Intellectual Property: Patents, Trade Marks, Designs, Copyrights; Unfair Competition; Pharmaceutical Regulatory; Product Liability.

Ever since beginning his career as a lawyer, Henrik Timmann, partner, has worked at rospatt osten pross. His clients are mainly large and medium-sized Asian, US and European companies in the fields of, inter alia, biotechnology, chemistry, computer hardware and software, electronics, manufacturing engineering and machinery, pharmaceuticals and telecommunications. In patent law, he is mainly involved in litigation in infringement proceedings. Together with patent attorneys, he also appears in the associated opposition, nullity and cancellation proceedings. The cases for which he has been retained have given him some wide-ranging insights into such technical fields as mobile telecommunications (2G, 3G and 4G), wired communications, inorganic and organic chemistry and process engineering, computer technology, analogue and digital audio and video processing, medical engineering, pharmaceuticals, genetic engineering and optics. It is a great help in this connection that he also has a personal interest in technical matters. In trade mark law, he is already involved at the stage of deciding on and developing marks. He appears before the civil courts and also before the national and international offices. Other major fields of activity for him are design law and the law of unfair competition, especially in sectors involving technical aspects, such as telecommunications and pharmaceuticals. He also attends to copyright cases in the software and internet fields and anti-trust cases before offices and civil courts, e.g. fighting obstacles to internet trading. Licence agreements and the remuneration of employee inventions are his most important activities apart from litigation. During his career as an attorney, he has been involved in numerous cases of interest not only to lawyers, but also to the general public which have been the subject of reports in specialist journals and other media. Furthermore, he is the joint editor and co-author of “Handbuch des Patentrechts”, the “Patent Law Handbook”, 1st edition 2012, Beck-Verlag which was also published in an English translation (“Patent Law – A Handbook”) in 2014 (C. H. Beck/Hart/Nomos). He also lectures on patent law issues.
