Position

Fred is an associate in the Commercial Property team and advises on a wide variety of property work, focusing principally on landlord and tenant matters, commercial property investment and corporate occupancy. He acts for a range of clients with particular emphasis on charities, livery companies, private investors and investment funds.

Career

Fred joined Farrer & Co as a trainee in September 2008 and qualified into the Commercial Property Team in September 2010.

Member

Fred is a member of the Commercial Real Estate Legal Association (CRELA).

Farrer & Co provides the kind of ‘client-focused service that one might expect from a mid-market firm’. Clients have particularly noted the team’s ‘personable, practical and proactive’ approach to letting transactions, construction and development and general property management issues. Department head Andrew Bailey advised Hub Group on the acquisition of a building in Wembley for redevelopment as a mixed-use retail, office and residential space. Further, Bailey and Mark Gauguier acted for Charities Property Fund in relation to the forward funding of a pre-let retail park development on a brownfield site in Greenwich, and Gauguier is also advising Duchy of Cornwall on the strategic planning and development structure of the Poundbury Development – a sustainable urban extension including residential and commercial buildings and infrastructure. Charles Anderson is acting for The British Library in connection to the disposal of land for the St Pancras development site, and the construction of gallery facilities and public spaces. James Furber and senior associates Sarah Aggarwal and Fred Lee are also recommended. Robin Holmes retired and Gavin Acheson left for Birketts LLP.
