Position

Simon is head of the Banking practice. He advises lenders and borrowers on a range of finance transactions (syndicated and bilateral, multi-tranche and layered acquisition, trade, development, and property finance). Simon also acts for clients (debtors, creditors, boards of directors and appointment takers) in formal and informal insolvency work, advising on a broad range of insolvency matters involving corporate bodies, partnerships and individuals.

Career

Trained at Travers Smith where he qualified in 2000; moved to the London office of O’Melveny & Myers in 2003; joined Farrer & Co as a partner in 2007.

Member

Simon is the firm's nominated representative to the LMA and is a member of R3 the Associated Business Recovery Professionals.

'First-rate negotiator' Simon Graham acted for Credit Suisse on a £30m term loan facility to fund the acquisition of a commercial office property in Manchester; Laurie Horwood advised the same client on a £42.5m loan to refinance and develop a large country estate. Practice head Martin Blake, who, along with Bethan Waters, is praised for having a 'vast breadth of knowledge, patience and professional manners', assisted Coutts & Co with a £13m term loan facility to an international property fund group to refinance the acquisition of a shopping centre in the West Midlands. Annabel Dean, newly promoted partner Marc Glancy, senior associate Kate Corke and associates Laura Uberoi and Caroline Pearce are also noted.
