Tax law with a focus on banking, finance (including structured, asset and project finance), capital markets, investment funds structures in relation to private equity, real estate funds, hedge funds and regulated and structured funds, M&A transactions, reorganisations and employee participation plans.

Graduated from the University of Basel in 1989. He holds a doctorate (Dr iur) in law from the University of Basel (1994) and an LLM from New York University (1997).
