Fergus Devine is a Partner in the Projects & Construction Department and Head of William Fry’s Energy & Natural Resources Group. Fergus advises local and international power, oil, gas and commodities companies on major projects, transactions and regulatory matters. He has particular expertise in advising new market participants, and those considering opportunities, in the energy sector in Ireland, including in relation to renewable energy and co-generation. Fergus also advises procuring authorities, bidders, financiers, contractors and operators in relation to PPPs in highly regulated sectors.
The ‘results-focused‘ Liam McCabe leads the versatile team at William Fry, which handles the procurement, financing and development of a wide range of projects. In 2020, the team’s work included matters in the power, telecoms, energy, and real estate sectors. Fergus Devine specialises in the power and energy sectors and construction partner Jarleth Heneghan is also active in this area, particularly on IT and PPP projects. Consultant Cassandra Byrne is another name to note.
Led by Fergus Devine, William Fry‘s energy practice has ‘in-depth knowledge and understanding of the energy market’. In addition to advising on the financing and development of conventional and renewable energy, the team also handles corporate and commercial transactions in the energy sector. The energy team draws on the firm’s planning, corporate, banking, and competition departments to provide a full service offering.
