Career

Andrew is Head of our Sea Fisheries, Regulatory and Marine Environment Unit and our Ship Transactional and Finance Unit. He acts for leading players in the fishing industry both nationally and internationally in respect of Sea Fisheries law, having taken cases to the European Court of Justice and the Privy Council.

He also acts for a number of UK clearing banks, European and international banks in respect of ship finance work including cargo and yacht transactional and finance work.

Andrew’s environmental law work this year has included advising various clients with a regard to legislative changes and the implications for their operations. He regularly acts for Inshore Fisheries Conservation Authorities in their capacity as both law makers by virtue of their byelaw making powers and in respect of their enforcement powers.

He has advised a number of windfarm developers regarding their rights and obligations towards other users of the sea and has been described as the “go-to” lawyer for such work.

Andrew is a regular contributor to the relevant trade press and has lectured at commercially run professional training seminars in London.
