Claudi Garcés is Joint Managing Partner of the Barcelona office.


Claudi specialises principally in the areas of Corporate, Real Estate and Competition Law.

His experience of operations involving the sale and purchase of businesses is extensive, and he frequently advises on such transactions both in Spain and in cross-border operations covering several different jurisdictions. He also provides advice on the various issues relating to competition law that may arise from company acquisitions.

He regularly counsels overseas clients on their investments in Spain, providing ongoing legal advice in a variety of areas, including corporate, commercial and contractual matters.

In the venture capital field, in addition to advising on investment and disinvestment processes, he has extensive experience of the incorporation of venture capital companies, funds and management institutions, and of handling their relations with the stock market regulator (CNMV).

In the real estate sector he has been involved in numerous operations for the sale and purchase of properties, particularly in relation to office buildings and the development of business parks.

He acts as Company Secretary for a number of Spanish companies.

He has also taken part in the Foreign Associate Program run by US law firm Debevoise & Plimpton LLP (New York).

It assisted Club Internacional del Libro with the acquisition of Reader's Digest in the DACH region. Madrid-based Marta Gil de Biedma and Barcelona-based Claudi Garcés are the names to note. Alejandro Alonso was a new arrival from Dentons in June 2019.
