Career
Javier Yañez joined the Madrid office in 2014 as counsel in the litigation and arbitration area. Formerly a member of the judiciary, he sat in many courts before specialising in company and commercial law in 2008, after which he presided over Commercial Court No 9 of Madrid until 2014.
He practices in the field of civil litigation and commercial law. He has extensive experience in litigation, particularly in the corporate and insolvency field, thanks to his many years as a judge. He also has extensive experience in consumer contracts and associated disputes, especially related to financial products.
Javier also specialises in the application of competition law and regulations governing unfair competition to private law relationships.
