Position
Lourdes Dávalos joined Uría Menéndez in 2011. Currently she is a counsel at the Madrid office and she is in charge of coordinating the Cuban Desk of the firm.
She is a dual-qualified lawyer in Cuba and Spain. Her areas of expertise are international commercial law, project finance, and foreign investments, with a particular emphasis on cross-border investments involving Spain, Cuba, and other Latin American countries.
Lourdes’s practice is focused in advising foreign investors (both private and state-owned) from several jurisdictions on international contracts, project finance and setting up joint ventures on foreign investment projects in Cuba (including at the Mariel Special Development Zone). She advises on transactions related to a wide variety of economic sectors, particularly those related to the tourism and leisure, construction, real estate, energy, transport, infrastructures, food and beverages industry, among others. She also has broad experience advising important financial institutions on regulatory aspects and loan transactions in Cuba.
