Juan Reyes is a lawyer in the Barcelona office of Uría Menéndez. He joined the firm in 1999 and became a partner in 2011.
Juan specialises in employment and social security law and regularly advises on the drafting and termination of employment contracts (particularly for senior executives), pension plans, bonus schemes, stock options, social security contributions, international relocations and work and residence permits. He advises companies on workforce restructurings (e.g., collective redundancies, layoffs in insolvency situations and transfers), collective negotiations (on collective bargaining agreements, the amendment of working conditions, etc.) and on employment issues arising from mergers and acquisitions.
Juan advises clients on employment disputes and litigation and represents them in the labour courts and in out of court proceedings. He also has extensive experience in carrying out labour audits, drafting due diligence reports and issuing legal opinions on employment and social security matters.
He regularly advises on the impact of new technologies (e.g., employees’ use of email and Internet, teleworking), company policies on issues such as discrimination and mobbing, and good governance guidelines.
