Career

Ignacio Álvarez is partner in the Madrid office of Uría Menéndez. Ignacio joined the firm in 2010 and between January and July 2016, he was seconded to the London office of the US firm Shearman & Sterling LLP, where he worked in the Capital Markets Group as an international associate.

Ignacio’s practice is focused on financing and debt restructuring transactions, M&A and energy law. Likewise, Ignacio has been involved in in transactions involving the sale of non-strategic assets of financial institutions, such as non-performing loans, real estate assets and asset management platforms.

Some of Ignacio’s most significant recent highlights include advising international investors on the acquisition of solar PV portfolios and disposal of and investments in gas distribution companies as well as advising sponsors on the restructuring of energy project financings.
