Position

Alexander Jolles is a Partner in Schellenberg Wittmer’s Dispute Resolution and Private Wealth Group and heads the Art and Entertainment Group in Zurich. His main areas of practice include domestic and international litigation and arbitration as well as succession, trust and estate planning and litigation.

In addition, Alexander Jolles has a longstanding and extensive practice in the field of art and entertainment. He advises a broad range of clients from auction houses, galleries and dealers to museums, private collectors, artists and artist estates. He regularly advises on matters ranging from the sale and purchase of fine art; to title disputes; looted, stolen, forged and damaged art; shipping, import and export of art; structuring and managing of collections, foundations, loans, bequests and donations; attribution and authentication of art; art insurance; art as collateral; art funds; copyrights.

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in inheritance matters, estate and succession planning, complex trust and estate disputes, and in art law, including art-related litigation
  • Serving both as arbitrator and as counsel to parties before arbitration tribunals, state courts, and regulatory authorities
