Schoenherr (Schönherr Rechtsanwälte) has recently been particularly active advising on Covid-19-related matters such as the establishment of the state-owned funding agency COFAG and, subsequently, on COFAG rescue financing packages. While providing regulatory advice, including Brexit and fintech-related matters, constitutes a key strength of the team, it is equally well versed handling transactional work across the CEE region, which is routinely carried out in tight cooperation with its offices across the network. In this space, banks, investment firms and corporates receive advice on acquisition, real estate, project and green finance alongside investments and DCM-related matters. In conjunction with its new tech group, the practice is also well placed to advise start-ups and fintechs on cryptocurrency and blockchain matters. Ursula Rath is a key contact for fintech-related work and best known for her capital markets expertise. Team head Martin Ebner also acts at the intersection with DCM and handles a wide range of financing matters, including structured finance, loan portfolio sales, debt restructuring and refinancings. Peter Feyl routinely represents international banks and financial institutions in various transactions, while Laurenz Schwitzer is a key contact for real estate and project finance as well as distressed debt transactions and green finance.
