Career

Joaquín joined ONTIER in April 2016 to lead the IT&IP Department of the firm at an international level, after working at his own co-founded legal boutique for eight years. There he became internationally renowned for acting for Spaniard Mario Costeja in the landmark European ruling on the right to be forgotten, a legal procedure ending with an awarded judgement to Joaquín’s client by the European Court of Justice.

Joaquín specialises in providing advice to IT companies of high potential. He’s been awarded with two Global Legal Awards 2015 in the categories “Grand Prize Disputes” and “Global Dispute of the year: International Litigation” as well as shortlisted by Best Lawyers in 2016 and 2017 in the categories “Privacy & Data Protection Law” and “Information Technology Law”. Moreover, Joaquín was named “Lawyer of the Week” by the Times in May 2014.
