Career

Marino Baldi advises clients in national and international economic law, in particular with regard to competition law, international trade law (trade in goods and services, protection of intellectual property), international investment law, as well as Swiss and European single market regulations.

He has extensive experience in economic legal matters. For many years, he acted as a Swiss Ambassador for foreign economic relations and led, on behalf of the Federal Council, numerous bilateral and multilateral negotiations. He also presided over important fora of international organizations, in particular in the areas of trade and investment law, as well as competition law. Moreover, in the 1990s, he played a leading role in the drafting of federal economic law statutes, such as the current Cartel Act and the Internal Market Act.

He was a member of the Swiss Competition Commission for twelve years, and lectures on European and International Economic Law at the University of Zurich.
