Pestalozzi advises national and international insurers on a variety of matters and has particular experience of insurance M&A transactions as well as regulatory work. The team regularly acts as the Swiss legal representative of major insurers, covering all relevant areas both in insurance and re-insurance, as well as drafting re-insurance policies. Practice head Christoph Lang is specialised in insurance and M&A, frequently advising clients on governance and policy issues. Beat Schwarz is experienced in insurance contracts and insurance regulatory work.
The competition team at Pestalozzi is led by Christoph Lang, who has a ‘wealth of experience‘. The group advises on merger control filings, leniency applications, and investigations in the context of abuse of dominance or pricing, among others. Beat Schwarz advises on competition aspects in M&A and transactions and Michèle Burnier is the key contact in Geneva.
Pestalozzi fields a team of specialists which advise a wide range of clients on the full spectrum of corporate and M&A work. The group represents buyers, sellers and financial advisers in joint ventures, asset and share deals. Another area of expertise is advising on public-to-private transactions and vice versa. Christoph Lang brings to bear his additional experience in competition matters and Sébastien Roy in Geneva is well versed in financing; together, they lead the team, which also includes noteworthy practitioners Severin Roelli, Franz Schubiger, Beat Schwarz and Christian Leuenberger.
The capital markets practice at Pestalozzi is active in an impressive range of matters, including IPOs, debt and bridge financings, equity derivatives, and stock exchange listings. A particular area of expertise is acting for a variety of clients in high yield bond issues. Active clients include entities of the calibre of Swisscom, Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs. The practice co-heads are bonds-expert Oliver Widmer and structured products advisor Urs Kloeti. Severin Roelli knows the SIX listing regulations and stock exchange law well, while Beat Schwarz focuses on debt capital markets. Christian Leuenberger is a key contact in raising capital.
