Elke Janssens focuses on corporate law, public and private M&A, corporate governance issues and equity capital markets. Her background in both law and economics is highly appreciated in M&A transactions.

Thanks to her legal and academic background, Elke is skilled at analysing complex matters and coming up with creative solutions to her clients' problems at short notice, which is highly appreciated in M&A transactions. She advises both listed and unlisted companies and is regularly involved in restructuring transactions, as well.

Education

Elke received her law degree from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in 1996. In 1998, she obtained an LL.M in business law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), followed by a master's in management from VUB in 2001. She also completed coursework in the Solvay Business School's MBA programme in 2006-2007. Elke is trained as a compliance officer (UCL, 2016).

Standout areas include project finance and financial regulation; in the latter field, Anne Fontaine is the key contact. Elke Janssens co-heads the capital markets practice alongside Nicolas de Crombrugghe; de Crombrugghe and Philippine De Wolf recently advised the underwriters on the Belgian and Dutch law aspects of the Nasdaq IPO by ArgenX. Thibaut Willems and Frédéric Heremans co-head the finance practice.

In one highlight, Nicolas de Crombrugghe advised France-based company Natixis on a proposed acquisition of Belgian fintech company Dalenys.
