Mr Klaas Wiersma

Klaas Wiersma, attorney at law, is a member of the Employment & Benefits practice group. He has over 18 years’ experience in all-round employment law. His main focus within this practice area is the employment side of, mostly international, reorganisations, restructurings, takeovers and mergers and cross-border labour. Klaas also specialises in management and employee participation structures and advises companies on setting up management participation structures. He frequently advises shareholders on high profile dismissal procedures of managing directors and assists with possible litigation procedures in this respect.
Klaas is a frequent speaker at seminars and courses designed for attorneys addressing various aspects of employment law. He frequently publishes articles and comments in the employment case law journal (JAR). He is also a co-author of a book which deals with the new employment legislation which came into force as of 1 July 2015. The updated edition was recently released.
He is a member of the National Association of Employment Law Attorneys and the Amsterdam Association of Employment Law Attorneys.

Loyens & Loeff is home to a strong employment and pensions team with significant experience in both advisory and contentious work, often working with other departments to service all of a client’s needs. Hermine Voûte maintains a particular focus on executive dismissals, restructurings and collective dismissals, and co-determination procedures, leading the group along with Klaas Wiersma , who specializes in cross border work as well as the employment aspects of corporate transactions. On the pensions side, senior associate Laurie Kuijpers is a key figure within the team, and is instructed by pension funds, insurers, and large corporates to handle a variety of pension issues.
