Hannes Snellman’s private M&A team advises on mid and large-cap transactions for private equity houses from Sweden and abroad. The group’s client roster covers a wide range of sectors, including the banking, energy and real estate industries. The corporate and public M&A team is led by Mattias Friberg, who acts for domestic and international corporates, financial institutions, and fund clients, while Claes Kjellberg has extensive transactional and private equity experience and heads up the private M&A team. Ola Åhman is also highly regarded in the market, Johanna Wärnberg is a key name for private equity clients, and managing associate Ammar Khan acts for venture capital businesses and start-ups.

Hannes Snellman fields an active capital markets practice across the debt and equity sections. For the latter, Christopher Saidac and Ola Åhman lead on IPOs, public tenders and private placements on behalf of foreign and domestic sponsors. Practice head Mattias Friberg and Fredrik Olsson handle debt-side mandates, including high-yield bond offerings, real estate-backed bonds, LBOs and green bonds for high-profile bookrunners and issuers.

The practitioners have backgrounds in dispute resolution, restructurings and finance issues and work in close conjunction with members of other teams, such as the M&A and employment groups, in order to handle distressed transactions at a domestic and cross-border level. Practice head Fredrik Olsson is particularly experienced in private equity related restructurings, while Ola Åhman advises management, creditors and suppliers of insolvent companies.
