Maria co-heads the firm’s Projects and Construction practice, a multi-disciplinary group of experienced lawyers within the fields of project finance, construction, real estate, environment, procurement, state aid, tax and structuring, M&A and dispute resolution. She also has an active role in our Energy and Infrastructure practice.

Maria specialises in complex projects particularly within the energy, infrastructure and commodities sectors, advising a wide range of actors in relation to e.g. the construction and operation of power plants and industrial facilities, the procurement of large industrial equipment and machinery, as well as the supply of commodities. Maria has extensive experience of project financed transactions.

Maria joined Hannes Snellman in 2017 from another leading Finnish law firm. She holds an LL.M. from University College London and worked on projects in the energy and commodities sectors at Clyde & Co LLP in London from 2006 to 2010.

Hannes Snellman‘s practice acts on real estate transactions, development projects, asset management issues and construction matters for industrial clients, particularly in the energy sector; other clients include real estate investment funds, portfolio holders and constructors. The team regularly handles major portfolio transactions and M&A transactions for real estate funds. The practice is jointly led by Tapio Teräkivi, who has substantial experience in complex real estate transactions and projects in the wind and hydro-power industries, and newly promoted partner Maria Landtman.
